The American University of Paris (AUP), the Centre Culturel Irlandais (Irish Cultural Center) in Paris, and the University of Kent Paris School of Arts and Culture (PSAC) are pleased to announce that Rachel Lyon has been appointed this year’s sixth Writer in Residence. 

AUP Professors Perry and Roda have been newly appointed as the UNESCO Co-Chairholders for a UNESCO Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights. 

Known as the world’s first Black superstar, the many avatars of Josephine Baker are still being celebrated today, whether it be at the Pantheon in Paris, or at our very own university.

This semester is a particularly busy one for newly named UNESCO Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights and Program Director of the MSc in Human Rights and Data Science, Claudia Roda. 

As a first-generation college student and the first in her family to move abroad, Lucia Rios applied to the MA in Global Communications out of a love of French language and culture and a desire for a practice-based degree. 

Alara Koknar has accepted a full-time internship at France 24 as Assistant to the Editor-in-chief of the English and French channels. 

AUP is proud to announce that Nicolas Colucci (Msc in Human Rights and Data Science, ’24) is the winner of the 2024 Westin Scholar Award.

Kate McGarr’s experience in the MA in International Affairs Program was about shaping her values and building relationships across borders. Following the eye-opening experiences and contact with people from all over the world that AUP brought her, she wouldn’t have settled for anything less than a meaningful career.
